Voters in Downtown Sacramento Weigh in on Proposed Streetcar — SACRAMENTO- Voters in downtown Sacramento are weighing in on a proposed streetcar measure. The special election is conducted all by mail and will be decided by about 3,700 voters in the area where that streetcar will travel.

Traffic at Standstill After Potato Slough Bridge Gets Stuck Open — SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY- Traffic on Highway 12 was at a complete standstill Sunday, as the Potato Slough Bridge across part of the delta was stuck open for about an hour. Many who live and stay at the nearby KOA Tower Park Resort & Marina said this is not the first time.

Man Shot and Killed in Rancho Cordova, Deputies Searching for Shooter — RANCHO CORDOVA- A 19-year-old young man was shot and killed outside a Rancho Cordova apartment complex near Bradshaw Road and Highway 50. The Sacramento Sheriff's Department said it got several reports of shots fired around 2:40 in the afternoon, on Lincoln Village Drive. When deputies arrived they found the victim with at least one gun shot wound.

Woman Uses Facebook to Escape Attacker — YUBA COUNTY - A Yuba County woman may have saved her life by using Facebook during a fight with her ex-boyfriend, according to sheriff deputies. After the victim was beaten and sexually assaulted in her Plumas Lake home, she was able to alert police inside a locked bathroom with her tablet computer.

Snow in Sierra Catches Travelers Off Guard — DONNER SUMMIT- Snow in the Sierra on Thursday caught some travelers off guard and caused headaches for businesses that rely on the warm weather. "I came from Marysville, so it's been about 80 degrees the past week, and we've been swimming at school," said Tristan McCarty, who along with his mother, Jeannette Turner, thought the weather in the Sierra would be the same as in the Central Valley.

Missing Bay Area Dad, Two Kids Found Safe in Sierra — An Alameda County father and his two young children were discovered around 8 p.m. in the wilderness of western Sierra County. Search and rescue crews said the man and his two kids, ages 3 and 5, were attempting to hike out when they were spotted by a California National Guard Black Hawk helicopter.

Hundreds Gather at Pierce High School to Remember Teens Killed in Wrong-Way Crash — ARBUCKLE- Hundreds gathered in the small town of Arbuckle at Pierce High School on Monday night to remember two students who were killed along with their mother, when a wrong-way driver crashed into them. "It just sucks knowing I won't have one of my best friends beside me through the rest of my high school experience," a friend of Alyssa told the crowd of mourners Monday.
