On this day in 1980, when galactic shoot-em-up Space Invaders was all the rage, Japanese video game developer Namco released Pakkuman, a maze-based arcade game inspired by, er, eating. As lackluster as it sounds, this was a notable release. The game was Pac-Man, and is now considered one of the most influential video games of the 1980s, if not of all-time. Enter Ca$hcats.biz, a Tumblr blog that consists of reader-submitted photographs of cats with cash. Well, that was anticlimactic. After all the hullabaloo about Facebook’s IPO, this is how it ends, with a mere $0.23 jump in share price? That kind of movement is what happens after Procter & Gamble announces a more absorbent type of Pampers. Independent studies suggest the UK is the fourth-largest country for Twitter users in the world, after the US, Brazil and Japan.
