The poll also finds that 59 percent of African Americans say they support same-sex marriage, up from an average of 41 percent in polls leading up to Obama’s announcement of his new position on the matter. Artur Davis, the former Democratic congressman from Alabama, is considering running for a House seat in Virginia as a Republican, according to sources who know Davis. Davis is toying with the idea of running for Democrat Gerry Connolly's seat in Virginia's 11th district in 2014 or for a seat in the Virginia legislature in 2013 or 2015, sources say. He will have switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican. A source in Virginia said that Davis called him and said "he hadn't quite gotten over the political bug and was thinking about running again."
