EXCLUSIVE: It’s been three months since ABC aired the last episode of Pan Am and almost two weeks since the network officially cancelled the freshman series. But the 1960s drama is not dead, at least not yet. As I hinted in my story from two weeks ago, Pan Am producer Sony Pictures TV has been exploring a play on cable or other platforms. I have now learned that the studio has had conversations with Amazon about potentially picking up the show. (Amazon already carries Pan Am‘s first season.) Twentieth Century Fox TV has taken the unusual step of screening a pilot to international buyers in town for the L.A. Screenings that hasn't yet been picked up by a network. Studio is screening "Gotham," creator Michael Green's supernatural drama about a division of the NYPD that looks into crimes that have a magical twist. Decision is a sign that 20th TV feels the show still has a strong shot at an order from ABC, possibly as a short-order event series. Netflix has promoted two of its own for key positions leading its domestic programming efforts while opening a search for someone to lead its acquisitions in Latin America. Cindy Holland will oversee original series for Netflix, which has made that a key component of its business having already launched one, "Lilyhammer," with four more to come next year. A 10-year veteran of the company, Holland will step away from domestic TV licensing, which will become the responsibility of Jason Ropell, who joined Netflix last year from NBCUniversal. Ropell already managed acquisitions for Canada, which he will continue to lead, and Latin America, which will be turned over to a new hire Netflix is looking to make.
