Bomb threat causes evacuation of St. John's Jesuit

toledoblade.com — St. John's Jesuit in South Toledo was evacuated today after a bomb threat was called into the school. School officials said someone called the school around noon with a bomb threat. Students and staff left the building in about five minutes and headed to the nearby Shadow Valley Tennis Center, a school spokesman said.

Marquis Walker, 30, of 1248 Woodland Ave. pleaded guilty to murder and a firearm specification in the Oct. 13, 2013 slaying of Jordan Jones-Harris, 23, at her Alexis Road apartment.

Bond set at $25,000 for assault suspect

Ryan Kuron, 20, of 1801 Christian Ave., is charged with felonious assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Crash ties up eastbound I-475 traffic in West Toledo

toledoblade.com — An injury crash tied up morning rush-hour traffic on eastbound I-475 in West Toledo and has closed two eastbound lanes, authorities said. The name of the victim was not released. Toledo police said injuries did not look serious. Neither the Lucas County EMS nor Toledo fire crews transported anyone from the scene, an EMS dispatcher said.

Huntington moniker to stick through 2022

toledoblade.com — Huntington National Bank said Wednesday it has agreed to pay $2.5 million to keep its name on Toledo's downtown arena through 2022. Huntington paid $2.1 million in 2010 for the naming rights to what then was the 6-month-old Lucas County Arena. Since then, it has been known as Huntington Center.
