Sheriff’s Deputy: Officer Shot In West St. Paul

minnesota.cbslocal.com — Authorities are on the scene of a shooting involving a police officer in the east Twin Cities metro Wednesday afternoon. A deputy with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office said an officer was shot near the area of Dodd Road and Smith Avenue during a traffic stop.

Publisher Says Ventura Passage Will Be Cut From Book

minnesota.cbslocal.com — MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Publisher HarperCollins says it will remove a passage from best-seller "American Sniper" that sparked former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura's defamation lawsuit against book author Chris Kyle. A federal jury in St. Paul awarded Ventura $1.8 million in damages on Tuesday, finding that a section of the book defamed Ventura.
