CDC: First diagnosed case of Ebola in the U.S.

cnn.com — (CNN) -- A patient being treated at a Dallas, Texas, hospital is the first case of Ebola virus diagnosed in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Wednesday. Several other Americans were diagnosed in West Africa and then brought to the United States for treatment.

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps arrested for DUI

cnn.com — (CNN) -- Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was arrested early Tuesday morning in Maryland on a DUI charge, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. Phelps was arrested about 1:40 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, excessive speed and crossing double lane lines within the Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 in Baltimore.
