Singer Maxwell, who possesses one of the smoothest voices in R&B, turns 39 today.Born in Brooklyn, New York, this soul singer made his musical debut in 1996 with the release of his debut album, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite. It was an overnight success and featured numerous hit singles, including "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)," "Whenever Wherever Whatever" and "Sumthin' Sumthin.'"
