Demi Lovato has done more than ease into the vacated X Factor judge’s chair — she’s also assumed Nicole Scherzinger‘s role as head honcho Simon Cowell‘s chief antagonist. The 19-year-old’s first day of judging the hit Fox show in Austin, Texas, involved a day of put downs – not just reserved for contestants. She put Cowell, 52, in his place too. Adam Lambert is making history this week by reportedly becoming the first openly gay male artist to top the Billboard album charts. As Billboard's Keith Caulfield is reporting, Lambert snagged the No. 1 spot with his sophomore effort, "Trespassing," which sold 77,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Interestingly, it's a case of one "American Idol" alum replacing another, as Lambert's chart debut toppled Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," which drops to No. 3. Including Underwood, Lambert is the seventh "American Idol" finalist to reach No. 1, following Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry (of Daughtry) and Scotty McCreery, according to Billboard. Another study has concluded that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers. Researchers at Farleigh Dickinson University updated a study they had conducted in late 2011. That study only sampled respondents from New Jersey, where the university is located. This time, the researchers conducted a nationwide poll. The poll asked questions about international news (Iran, Egypt, Syria and Greece were included) and domestic affairs (Republican primaries, Congress, unemployment and the Keystone XL pipeline.) The pollsters found that people were usually able to answer 1.8 out of 4 questions on foreign news, and 1.6 of 5 questions on domestic news, and that people who don't watch any news were able to get 1.22 of the questions on domestic policy ...
