'Die-in' protest reaches the Main Line

6abc.com — The marches and 'die-in' protests sparking waves across this country reached the Main line Monday Night starting on busy Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr during the evening commute. A chalk line was drawn around black people representing the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and others at the hands of police.

Battleship NJ hosts Thanksgiving meal for troops

Hundreds of casino workers protest Taj Majal closure in Atlantic City

6abc.com — Hundreds of unionized casino workers protested the announced closing of the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. The struggling casino is expected to close December 12th becoming to the 5th to do so this year. Workers and Local 54 Unite Here also rallied against the owner of the Tropicana - billionaire Carl Ichan.

Kidnapping charges dismissed for West Philadelphia business owners

6abc.com — Two West Philadelphia business owners say their reputations were destroyed and their efforts to help their home country of Liberia delayed because of a wrongful prosecution by the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. A judge dismissed kidnapping and robbery charges against Vickson and Lorpu Korlewala on September 19th.

Abu-Jamal's speech prompts bill support

6abc.com — Reaction has been raw to convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal delivering a commencement speech to a small college in Vermont. Now that reaction is guiding a bill through the Pennsylvania legislature. Pennsylvania lawmakers, Delaware Valley district attorneys, Governor Tom Corbett stood in support Monday for a bill that could stop convicted felons like Abu-Jamal from doing what he did over the weekend - delivering a commencement address.

1993 murder conviction overturned by DNA

6abc.com — A savage murder more than two decades old took a new turn Monday when the man in prison for that crime had his conviction overturned. In 1991, construction worker Anthony Wright, who was 20 years old at the time, was arrested for the rape and murder of 77-year-old Nicetown resident Louise Talley.

Northeast Philadelphia man scammed out of $14,000

6abc.com — Police released surveillance photos of the men who they say scammed a 67-year-old Northeast Philadelphia man out of $14,000. Investigators say Friday morning, the thieves who had African accents approached their mark at a Wawa on Grant Avenue. "Basically their story was, they felt it was unsafe for them to put their money in the U.S.
