A bear that wandered around a Hesperia residential neighborhood weighed about 200 pounds, authorities said Wednesday night. The young adult male bear was spotted Wednesday morning by residents, who called authorities. The animal was tranquilized and carried by Deputies Scott LaFond, Jeremy Deberg and Jason Dell to a California Department of Fish and Game vehicle, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The animal was taken to Fawnskin and will be relocated to the mountains near Big Bear. It was unclear how the bear ended up in the neighborhood. The trio was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of trying to kill the mother of one of the students, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
