After a series of stunningly magnificent productions, the Lyric Opera finished off its inaugural season in Muriel Kauffman Theatre with Gioachino Rossini's perennially delightful "The Barber of Seville." It is based, as is Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," on a play by Pierre Beaumarchais, and Cesare Sterbini's libretto retains the clever dialogue and light-hearted intrigue of the original.
