Surgery '99 percent' for Mets pitcher Pelfrey

nypost.com — Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey said he is "99 percent" certain he will undergo season-ending elbow surgery. The right-handed pitcher had an MRI exam that revealed a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his (pitching) elbow. He will fly to Birmingham to consult with Dr. James Andrews and is expected to undergo surgery.
