Can Unconscious Bias Undermine Fingerprint Analysis?

pbs.org — According to Dr. Itiel Dror, a neuroscientist, it can. It's something called "cognitive bias" - in other words, how humans unconsciously change their perceptions based on the context they're provided. And in the case of fingerprint examiners, it can cause them to change their findings - and potentially implicate the wrong person in a crime.
