The first photograph ever made is leaving its current home at UT's Ransom Center and going out on loan to Europe for the first time in 50 years, center officials announced today. Taken in 1826 or 1827, Joseph Nicéphore Niépce's "View from the Window at Le Gras" was acquired by UT in 1963 as part of a landmark collection assembled by Helmut and Alison Gernsheim.
