
By Sandra Pedicini, Orlando Sentinel2:18 p.m. EST, May 24, 2012 Orlando-based Darden Restaurants is restructuring its corporate office, with 40 employees moved into new jobs or being told they'll have to apply for other ones.Three workers also were dismissed this week, company spokesman Rich Jeffers said.Jeffers said the changes, which it told employees about Thursday, will make the company more efficient and help prepare better for growth.Darden, Orlando's only Fortune 500 company, owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, LongHorn Steakhouse and other chains. It has more than 1,500 corporate employees in Orlando."We're always looking to make sure our productivity and efficiency is where it needs to be," Jeffers said.In all, about 75 jobs are changing within the company, but 35 of those are open right now. ...
