The pageless Web

pandodaily.com — The Internet has been evolving for 20+ years, so isn't it time websites got onboard? Since the Internet made its public debut in the mid-90s, basic website structure has remained virtually untouched. Still tied to the same print-based paradigms and catalog-style navigation, these outdated formats now shackle designers to a limited framework that prevents them them from truly exploring the advantages inherent in the digital medium.
RT @Besvinick: @mathewi I’ve been cross-posting on my own blog and Medium - seeing tons of value from being part of Medium’s network
agreed - have wanted this for some time MT @hunterwalk: would love to have same instance of @disqus everywhere. Centralize conversation.
@hunterwalk: yes, it's something I think about a lot - does it splinter the audience or expand the reach? who benefits? how do you choose?

Evan Williams on Medium: “The magazine is the analog for what we’re doing”

paidcontent.org — When Twitter cofounders Evan Williams and Biz Stone launched Medium last year, their goal was for it to be a collaborative publishing tool that connected writers to a larger network. But that vision also hinges on quality, curation and, in some ways, a higher barrier to entry than platforms like Twitter.
yes, that too MT @hunterwalk: @Shoq it goes further - they're soliciting/curating based on who they allow to publish, who they pay
@mathayles @smarcopoulos: sure, it's relevant to that, but I don't really care that much about Doug Ford
@Shoq @hunterwalk: as far as I can tell the model is "give people a nice-looking place to publish quality content" - so far, anyway
yes RT @smarcopoulos: @mathewi @mathayles big brother seems to exert considerable influence on the mayor. You find the story irrelevant?
same RT @hunterwalk: @medium links appearing in my twitter stream more & more often. And usually good stuff.
