Amol Rajan appointed as Independent editor

guardian.co.uk — Amol Rajan, the columnist and former adviser to Evgeny Lebedev, has been appointed editor of the Independent. Rajan replaces Chris Blackhurst, in a surprise move less than two years since he was named editor. Currently the editor of the Independent's comment section, Rajan becomes the first non-white editor of a British national newspaper.

FBI searching for Jimmy Hoffa's remains in field outside Detroit: report

nypost.com — Getty Images Investigators plan to dig up a field outside Detroit today in hopes of discovering the remains of Jimmy Hoffa, an FBI spokesperson said. Monday's dig comes after aging mobster Tony Zerilli said earlier this year that Hoffa's body was buried in the northern Oakland Township field, about 20 miles north of the restaurant where he was last seen in July 1975.
