Hitting its mark, California Shakespeare Theater's One Great Party on Saturday at the Four Seasons was just that: a great, rollicking gala. Expertly executed by gala chairwoman Jean Simpson (with honorary chairs actor Liev Schreiber; Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Paul Pelosi; Ann and Gordon Getty; and Jo Schuman Silver), some 400 fervent fans raised $537K in support of the theater's artistic and arts education programs that provide access to culture and community for 5,000 Bay Area students. That take included a record $173K raised by auctioneer Greg Quiroga during the live auction's Fund-a-Need. Tech titans and party animals recently raised big bucks during the 2012 Tipping Point Benefit and the San Francisco Zoo’s annual ZooFest Gala.
