fox8live.com — NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Sunday started out wet with a number of big booming storms moving along our cold front all through the day. Most of the heaviest storms moved off shore by mid-day, but we still had passing showers that continued into the afternoon.

fox8live.com — It was a busy Saturday with several periods of very heavy rain. Most storms were fast moving down pours, but didn't leave a lot behind. Most of our weather watchers called in less than an inch of rain. The unusual factor is the cold front that is draped across the area.

We saw several individual storms cause major issues in isolated areas on Wednesday with some locations receiving 1-2 inches of rain. Some areas of Baton Rouge and Washington Parish near Franklinton saw flash flooding on Wednesday.

The Audubon Park gauge reported a high of 96 for Saturday afternoon. Very little rain and plenty of sun means we will continue to see similar conditions for Father's Day.

fox8live.com — Numerous heavy showers pushed past the region today. Most have been fast movers only dropping a few hundredths of an inch of rain, but coming in sheets in some instances. The speed of these showers are being influenced by the pressure gradient between high pressure to the east and Invest 91 in the western Gulf.
