A federal court judge on Tuesday imposed a 40-year sentence on a White supremacist who was behind a 2004 bombing that seriously injured Scottsdale's diversity director. A jury found Dennis Mahon, 61, guilty in February of conspiracy to damage buildings and property by means of explosives; malicious damage of a building by means of explosives; and distribution of information related to explosives. Dennis' twin brother, Daniel, was found not guilty of a single count: conspiracy to damage buildings and property. Dennis Mahon maintained his innocence in court moments before he was sentenced. A Scottsdale man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of burglarizing a vehicle in the parking lot of a trailhead. Scottsdale police arrested Donald Tomasian, 43, about 5 p.m. at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Gateway Trailhead, 18333 N. Thompson Peak Parkway, after he was observed by police burglarizing a white Volkswagen vehicle parked at the trailhead. Tomasian was booked for investigation of multiple burglary and drug-related charges, police said. Tomasian also is suspected in other vehicle burglaries, police said. A man was taken to a hospital and could face burglary charges after crawling down a chimney in Scottsdale on Monday morning. Scottsdale police were called to a home near 68th Street and Indian School Road at 5:30 a.m. by a homeowner who heard noises coming from his chimney. When officers arrived, they could see someone inside the chimney. The man was taken into custody after he came out from the chimney on his own, said Officer David Pubins, a spokesman for the Scottsdale Police Department. The man was brought to an area hospital for observation because he was coughing a lot, Pubins said. The man will likely be charged with burglary and trespassing upon his release, Pubins said. A man who kept Paradise Valley residents in fear during a series of home invasions in 2009 was convicted Monday in connection with the spree. A Maricopa County Superior Court jury found Justin Lee Martin, 35, of Phoenix, guilty of five counts of armed robbery, five counts of kidnapping, five counts of misconduct involving weapons, two counts of theft of means of transportation and one count of attempted armed robbery, a court spokesman said. The jury could not reach a verdict on the five remaining counts: two counts of armed robberies and kidnappings and one count of misconduct involving weapons. Police arrested a Scottsdale husband and wife Monday on suspicion of illegally selling drugs out of their pharmacy. Steve and Mary Weber. both 60, were arrested on suspicion of illegal drug possession and could face charges of illegally selling Oxycodone out of their business, Sun Drugs, 10810 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale police said. Search warrants were served at the their business and home, according to police. Authorities reported finding $20,000 in cash and 10,000 Oxycodone pills. Steve, the owner of the business, was suspected of accepting prescriptions for Oxycodone he knew were fraudulent in return for cash payments, police said.
