What is this?

Muck Rack has launched a service for PR folks that allows them to publish one line press releases on Muck Rack. Releases can contain links to multimedia, press kits, and more detailed press releases.

How does it work?

Press release senders pay a fee based on the length of their tweet, we publish the line in a designated section of Muck Rack's main page and through Muck Rack's Twitter account. All press releases on MuckRack.com are marked, and press releases in Muck Rack's Twitter feed are prefaced with "RELEASE". Everything else is strictly editorial.

Why should I care?

A one line press release on Twitter takes less of your time than long, emailed press releases and phone calls. Every word in the release counts—literally—so we expect the updates to be concise, informative, and relevant.

I shun the flack. What should I do?

No problem. You're not obligated to read the updates or links, but if you do spot a potentially newsworthy tweet, feel free to check it out. Plus, you can suggest that PR people use this service instead of emailing you. When you see something good, you'll contact them.

How can I see only press releases that are relevant to my beat?

In the first phase of the service all of the releases are grouped together into one feed, but we'll be adding categorization based on your feedback.
