The most depressing part is that IR is the best solution available — putting a tuner or cable decoder in the One would be suicide.
@ryanbidan Yeah, CEC. Problem is most people have five year old cable boxes.
You will end up using your cable box UI, with the Xbox UI layered over it. The Xbox will not know what's on your DVR. It's separate.
Pretty clear from my Twitter replies that Microsoft very successfully convinced people that it actually integrated TV, when it… didn't.
