RENO, Nevada (CNN) –- It’s not every day the President of the United States shows up on your doorstep but that was the case for Paul and Val Keller at their Reno, Nevada, home on Friday. The reason for the president's visit was to highlight problems with mortgage refinancing and to urge Congress to do more to help homeowners. Many families, like the Kellers, are struggling to refinance their home because they owe more than their home is worth. The Kellers purchased their $168,000 home fourteen years ago, yet now it is only worth $100,000. It's been a bonanza money week for the Obama campaign. A Democratic source tells CNN the campaign raised $2 million dollars in donations in the 24 hours following the President's announcement he personally support's same-sex marriage. On Friday, the president left on a campaign swing to Seattle and Los Angeles to pick up even more donations. The president dropped into Seattle where he collected roughly $3 million at two events. President Obama made a surprise visit to Afghanistan today, on the one year anniversary of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. While in country Obama and President Karzai signed the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the countries. The president will also address the nation live from Afghanistan at 7:30pm ET. Today's visit to Afghanistan is President Obama's third since taking office. His most recent visit was to the base at Bagram in December 2010. Bad weather kept the president from traveling the almost 30 miles to Kabul. His first visit was on March 28, 2010. It was 9 years ago today when then-President George W. President Obama wants to crack down on for-profit colleges his administration says deceptively recruit post-9/11 veterans with false promises of lucrative careers. The president will travel to Fort Stewart in Georgia Friday where he will unveil a new executive order aimed at forcing schools to be more transparent in their recruitment and marketing efforts. While 9/11 GI Bill federal loans can be used at private, public, and for-profit schools alike, a recent Senate Committee report found eight of the ten largest recipients of GI Bill loans are for-profit schools. According to the report, for-profit colleges heavily recruit ex-service members with misleading military-themed websites that falsely suggest the federal funds can only be used at their schools.
