By Cale Ramaker KIRO-TV-Seattle SEATTLE - Seattle start-up 'Vicis' says its soon-to-be-launched football helmet will keep the brain far safer than anything available today. Their motivation: the current focus on football and head injuries. Chief Executive Officer and co-founder Dave Marver says the Vicis helmet is designed to protect against both skull fracture and traumatic brain injury.
The State of Washington's Utilities and Transportation Commission issued an emergency order Monday to keep Ride The Ducks of Seattle shut down. "We're taking this very seriously," David Pratt, assistant director of transportation safety, said. "It's in the public interest to make sure this company is safe and these vehicles are safe before they operate again."
