1. Introduction The victim of trafficking has traditionally been described as a woman, poor and alone, obliged to submit to “forced prostitution” and, above all, over the last decades, a migrant from an impoverished country, unscrupulously managed by criminals from whom she can only hope to be rescued by a “developed” state (Agustín 2004; Kempadoo et al. 2012).
