@_idol7 And it's still $10-$20 more than what you could get before. Enough to make an adult cry.

@weathershoe Let me know what sounds most appealing. I can talk through the pros/cons more throughly.

@weathershoe 3) A 14- or 15-inch $200 Chromebook. Pros: Full keyboard, bigger screen. Cons: No access to Word unless you have Office 365. Also, Office 365 sucks. Don't see any on sale just yet but I know some will pop up over the weekend. If you go this route, look for one with 4GB RAM.

@weathershoe 2) Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1" Tablet + 32GB MicroSD card (Costco) $170 Pros: Should do both video playback and MS Word (via the Android app) Cons: A little pricier; I think it's also stuck on Android Marshmallow still. Requires Costco membership for purchase.

@weathershoe OK, a few options: 1) Amazon Fire HD 10" tablet Ad version: $100 Ad-free version: $115 Pros: Cheap, seem to have decent reviews Cons: To get access to the Google Play store, you have to be willing to do a tiny (and easy, I think) hacking. Otherwise, no MS Word. (cont)
