More than a tourist attraction, even the Japanese enjoy their time during cherry blossom season. The cherry blossom season usually spans from March 23 to April 10, but small climate disturbances can throw it off by a couple of days.

In a place north of Tokyo, fog combines with nighttime city lights to create a truly jaw-dropping spectacle. Take the case of the Chichibu region, north of Tokyo, at the west end of Saitama Prefecture. It is a popular day-trip destination and only takes two and a half hours to reach by train. It has majestic mountains, relaxing hot springs and lush forests.

These reimagined princesses have been transported to the 21st century and drawn with modern fashion trends in mind. Snow White was the first to get a makeover. Her new image showed a blue top with exposed shoulders. Her hair ribbon has been replaced by a simple red headband. Her lips remain as rosy red as the fairy tale described.
