Both lanes of Interstate 5 in North Seattle are closed at Northeast 130th Street, after downed power lines blocked the highway at Northeast 145th Street, beginning before 9 a.m. Saturday. Drivers are urged to avoid the area, as traffic is backed up and side streets are jammed. Power had been out in the Bitter Lake area, but City Light reports that service is back for most customers. A car also crashed and rolled over on I-5 at Northeast 130th Street.

The "Know Lake County" series of lectures presented at the Lakeport Library every third Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. from February thru December was conceived by Lake County Librarian Christopher Veach when he realized a need that the library could fill.
