Meet the Judges of the #VineAwards

We're only days away from the Vine Journalism Awards. If you haven't submitted your favorite use of Vine in journalism yet, click here -- the nomination deadline is tomorrow. After that, our outstanding judges will choose the winners. Follow them, flatter them, just don't bribe them. Learn a bit more about them below in alphabetical order:

Jeanne Brooks

In her role at the Online News Association, Jeanne Brooks designs immersive learning experiences to train journalists on all things digital. For 3 years, she has led programming for the organization's sold-out conference, ONA13, and is founder of the Midway. Passionate about technology, an informed public, and diversity, Jeanne aims to make digital and in-person connections across communities. In 2014, she will embark on a project with partner Sabrina Hersi Issa to tell the story of a full, diverse spectrum of change-makers in digital journalism. 

Bob Garfield

Bob Garfield is the co-host of the On the Media show on National Public Radio. Apart from On the Media, Bob has been a columnist for 30-plus years, at the moment on the subjects of media and marketing for The Guardian and MediaPost. Bob has been a contributing editor for the Washington Post Magazine, Civilization and the op-ed page of USA Today. He has also written for The New York Times, Playboy, Sports Illustrated, Atlantic and Wired and been employed variously by ABC, CBS and CNBC. As a lecturer and panelist, he has appeared in 37 countries on six continents, including such venues as the Kennedy Center, the U.S. Capitol, the Rainbow Room and the Smithsonian. He is the author of five books, most recently Can't Buy Me Like. 

Rachel Sklar

Rachel is a writer and social entrepreneur based in New York. She is the co-founder of Change the Ratio, which seeks to increase visibility and opportunity for women in tech and new media. A former lawyer who writes about media, politics, culture & technology, she is the Editor-at-Large at and was a founding editor at both Mediate and the Huffington Post, where she launched the "Eat the Press" section as HuffPo's first standalone vertical. She speaks widely at conferences, on panels and on TV. Rachel is a mentor at Techstars and was named to the Silicon Alley Insider 100 in 2009, 2010 & 2011.
