As we were starting to feel that high profile layoffs like these might take a break until 2018, the media world received the
shocking unfortunate news that almost the entire staff of the nearly 40-year-old alternative newspaper LA Weekly were let go on Friday.
Similar to the recent closing of DNAinfo/Gothamist, the news of the publication's sale almost immediately preceded the sudden purge. More details available at Snopes and Deadline but here is a list of folks that Muck Rack have identified as recently being associated with the publication.
Feel free to message me if you'd like to claim your Muck Rack profile, be added to this list or have interesting information about the situation unfolding around LA Weekly. Best of luck to you all, we're here to help any way we can.
If your name is omitted from the list you can head over to Muck Rack to set up a profile! If your name is on the list, we encourage you to claim your profile to edit it however you like! Either way it's easy to do and more importantly, free. If you have any trouble or questions, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
