The Merced County Elections Office tallied more than 17,000 mail-in ballots on Monday, and newly released results showed widening leads for many candidates in county races. The new results include mail-in ballots received on Election Day or soon after. The Elections Office is working to count ballots from mail-only precincts and provisional ballots before the state mandated deadline on Dec. 6. So far, about 66 percent of registered voters’ ballots have been counted.
Jeffrey Snyder, the Fresno man convicted of child molestation who won his freedom after being housed since 2006 in a state hospital for sexually violent predators, was arrested Friday for allegedly violating the terms of his conditional release. Snyder will return to Coalinga State Hospital. Police arrested Snyder on Friday at his court-designated home, the El Muir Hotel on G Street, on a civil warrant obtained by Liberty Healthcare, Sgt. Israel Reyes said.

Exact case matching or punctuation
If you're searching for a brand name or keyword that relies on specific punctuation marks or capitalization, you can

Use parentheses to separate multiple
boolean phrases. For example, to find journalists talking about having fun in Disney World or
Disneyland, search for ("disney world" OR disneyland) AND fun.
An asterisk can be used to search for any variation of a root word truncated by the asterisk. For example, searching for admin* will return results for administrator, administration, administer, administered, etc.
A near operator is an AND operator where you can control the distance between the words. You can vary the distance the near operation uses by adding a forward slash and number (between 0-99) such as strawberries NEAR/10 "whipped cream", which means the strawberries must exist within 10 words of "whipped cream".
