I wrote a piece about the Camino de Santiago for the Solo Travel Society. They're wonderful!

I'm Gen X. I still have nightmares of typing class!

What does it mean to be a journalist?
Travel has changed my life. I do this work in the hopes of helping other women have amazing travel experiences.

Why did you become a journalist?
I am not a trained journalist. But people always liked my travel posts and said I was a good writer. So, I gave it a shot!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. My school didn't have a newspaper. I was on the Yearbook Committee, though.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My Where to Stay in Istanbul article and its corresponding podcast episode on Travel Lemming.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Put yourself out there without shame. The right thing will find you. And embrace feedback as a way to better your content.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At a concert, on long walks, or travelling.
