Voters want change as animal welfare no longer a niche concern
"It's the economy, stupid" became Bill Clinton's defining campaign slogan because it captured what mattered most to voters. But if we're talking about Britain today, that slogan needs an update: it's the leader, stupid. British politics is becoming more presidential by the year. Factory farming began as a survival strategy.
Chris Platt: Protecting rural Britain means saying no to factory farming
Chris Platt, Co-Founder of Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation. Across Britain, our villages and rural communities are increasingly under threat from a new wave of industrial farming. Applications to build factory farms – sometimes housing tens of thousands of animals at a time – are appearing with increasing frequency before local councils.
Labour's record on animal welfare is not just disappointing
