After a 2-2 weekend, the Washington Demon softball team will return home Monday for a doubleheader against the Fairfield Trojans, a couple matchups you can hear on KCII. Following a come-from-behind victory to cap off Friday, the Demons were back in Iowa City again for yet another matchup against state-ranked competition in Class 2A #6 Durant. The Wildcats put the game out of reach early, scoring six unanswered in the first three innings.

Highland baseball surged late, scoring four unanswered runs to overcome the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves, 4-2, on Friday. The Wolves scored their two runs across the first two innings, but that’d be all for them. After a scoreless third, the Huskies were able to tie things up in the fourth with a couple of runs, then took a two run lead of their own in the fifth. WMU were not able to break through again, with Highland securing the narrow win to head into the weekend.
