Remember the Daily Download? Its editor-in-chief Lauren Ashburn just joined Fox News and Fox Business. (You may also recall that Fox recently hired media critic Howard Kurtz, who was also involved in Ashburn's media news and criticism website). In addition to her most recent project, Ashburn was previously a contributor to Daily Beast/Newsweek. "AHAHHHHHHHH," tweeted Dylan Byers from Politico, in response to HuffPo's Michael Calderone breaking the news, and later added his own headline to the mix with this tweet: "Lauren Ashburn follows Kurtz to Fox."
Also, USA Today welcomes Alistair Barr into the fold as a senior technology reporter. You'll know Barr from Reuters, where he most recently served as an e-commerce reporter. "So excited to start my new gig as tech reporter Aug 26 @USATODAY with @jswartz and @scottysmartin in San Francisco," Barr tweeted. Herb Greenberg of CNBC and TheStreet remarked, "Congrats to @alistairmbarr on his new gig at @usatoday. Not good news for $AAPL and $GOOG, which he'll cover." True story!
