Ariel Castro found dead

Last night we heard from Andrew Welsh-Huggins at the AP that the Ohio man who held 3 women captive committed suicide. Shaul Turner with Fox 31 Denver wrote, “#Cleveland's mayor says city should keep focus on victims' recovery and well-being, not on #Castro's suicide.” Pervaiz Shallwani at the Wall Street Journal wrote, “Corrections officials tell @ap Castro was found hanging in his cell. Investigation into how it happened underway.” Denise Goolsby with the Palm Springs Desert Sun added, “Wow.”

CNN then reported that Ariel Castro, the Cleveland kidnapper, was found hanged in his prison cell. @cnnbrk tweeted: “Autopsy: Ariel Castro died of hanging by a bed sheet. Castro’s attorney said ‘Authorities wouldn't let independent psychologist evaluate him.’” Toni Konz at the Courier-Journal wrote, “What a coward!”

Here’s the news again from USA Today: Ariel Castro found hanged in prison cell, written by Melanie Eversley. Eversley also said, “Ohio corrections rep says #ArielCastro was in protective custody, by himself, when found at 9:20 p.m. ET Tuesday.” Colleauge John Bacon wrote, “No one will miss Ariel Castro, but Ohio officials have serious questions to answer following his death in prison.” Scott Utterback from the Courier-Journal added, “So he couldn't handle for a month what he forced the ladies to endure for a decade. #pathetic.”
