It’s Jobs Report Day

Sep 1, 2013

Live From New York! It's Jobs Friday!, headline courtesy of Steven Russolillo at the Wall Street Journal. Steven wrote, “Dow tumbles 110 points after jobs report. Fed still expected to taper. Buckle up, it's going to be bumpy ride,” adding, “The bright side: Economy continues to add jobs. Downside: pace of job growth far from robust.”

Neil Irwin with the Washington Post tells us to Ignore the headlines. This was a very bad jobs report. Heidi Moore with the Guardian agreed: “Seriously. Also third bad one in a row.” Noam Scheiber via The New Republic said, “@Neil_Irwin on downward trend in jobs nums: ‘Average of 148k new jobs/mo last 3 mos; 160k last 6 mos; 184k last 12.’”
