Big news today in the world of social and web publishing: the stortytelling platform Storify was sold to the curation giant Livefyre.
The move has journos buzzing, tweeting and posting. Because it’s a tool many of us love for its easy functionality, and social relevance. Here’s what you need to know: Storfiy will still be free, and you can still embed your content anywhere on the web. That’s not changing. What is going to change for journos is the ability to use Livefyre’s real time tools within their Storify posts. Which includes embedding media into comments, and integrating keyword automation and real time updates. And for enterprise clients of Livefyre (think New York Times, CNN, etc) they get to use Storify in their CMS as a tool to really pump out content on their sites.
