Mallary Tenore to depart Poynter for new role
Poynter managing editor Mallary Tenore just announced she will leave her job to become managing director with Images & Voices of Hope, a nonprofit organization that aims to emphasize media as a force for good. On her blog, Tenore wrote, "I’ve often thought about running my own media-related organization, or starting an editing/publishing company, so this job moves me closer to those aspirations. IVOH has been in need of a full-time managing director who can grow it and take it to the next level, and I’m eager to be that person." Lauren McCullough with Breaking News tweeted, "Congrats! Big loss for @Poynter, but sounds great for you." Tenore replied to supporters, "Thanks, everyone, for all the kind words. I appreciate it!" According to her blog post, Tenore will leave Poynter the second week of October, but won't assume her new role until late November--after she's returned from her honeymoon!
Many congratulations on both the new position and the upcoming nuptials, Mallary!
