MSNBC.com poaches two

POLITICO deputy managing editor Laura McGann has departed DC for a gig as MSNBC.com‘s news editor. Politico's Kenneth Vogel remarked, "Props to @lkmcgann on new gig @msnbc. big get for them/loss for @politico. able to make even my dense copy sing, so you know she's good," later adding, "@lkmcgann has left Rosslyn, but her nameplate remains. Now in my ex-@Politico collection (weird, I know)."  Meanwhile, McGann tweeted of the move, "Can't wait!"

MSNBC is also poaching Melissa Jeltsen from The Huffington Post, where she is currently the front page editor. "Personal announcement: After 2 great years at HuffPost, I'm moving on to a new opportunity at MSNBC. A little teary but very, very excited," announced Jeltsen, who will work under McGann on the homepage editing team. "Excited for the arrival of @lkmcgann and @quasimado to @msnbc digital!" tweeted Managing Editor MSNBC Digital Dafna Linzer.
