News that will make you smile

On the flip side, these 24 Recipients of MacArthur ‘Genius’ Awards got quite a nice news this morning. Christopher Drew at the New York Times said of the unveil: “Always an interesting moment.” Hillary Kelly with The New Republic wrote, “Hurray for Karen Russell winning a MacArthur ‘Genius’ Grant! So deserved.” David Whelan at Forbes shared, “My elementary and middle school classmate (choreographer Kyle Abraham) has been declared a genius! Very exciting.” Dan Zak with the Washington Post wasn’t so happy. He tweeted: “‘One-third of the 2013 fellows live in New York City...’ Lame. Try harder, @macfound.”

Use this photo from the set of the Dumb and Dumber sequel to get you back to your happy place. Jeff Daniels tweeted yesterday, “We're Back!!! #DumbTo.” Freelancer Ben Poole said, “This is what happens when Will McAvoy and MacKenzie McHale start buying from Heisenberg.” Scott Johnson admitted, “Way more excited about this than I think I'm supposed to be.” Kirk Yuhnke at Fox 31 Denver explained, “Agree, stoked!”

And to set your day back on track, here’s video of a Huge Whale Breaching Just Feet Off Rockaway Beach from DNAInfo. Katie Honan there wrote, “Ya know what today is? HUMP(back) DAY! (**presumed humpback.)” Peter Wade at Fast Company started singing “Rock Rock Rockaway Beach!” And Stacey Delikat was all but out the door (we presume) when she wrote, “Would love to see this up close!”
