News couple heads for DC
Roll Call has added Georgina Gustin as a food and agriculture policy reporter. It's a smart move, considering Gustin's previous experience covering exactly those beats since 2004 for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "Big news in food/ag coverage: @georgina_gustin of STL Post-Dispatch joining execbrief.cq/food to cover regulatory affairs," announced Roll Call's Philip Brasher. Taking his lead, Gustin shared, "So excited. Starting today at execbrief.cq/food, working with @PhilipBrasher, covering food policy nitty gritty. Acronyms beware!"
Gustin's husband Tim Townsend has also left the St. Louis publication to join her in DC, but as a senior writer and editor at Pew Research Center's Religion and Public Life Project. "Congrats, @townsendreport, on joining @PewReligion. Will miss you on the @STLtoday religion beat," commented Huffington Post's Jaweed Kaleem. "Sad to see @townsendreport leave #stl. Huge win for DC," agreed breaking news reporter Joel Currier, then added, "Double win for DC as his talented wife @georgina_gustin prepares for big stuff there. Cue 12-bar blues."
"Thanks, JC. So going to miss you and this place. But we're not saying bye. Be back a bunch!" Gustin promised.
