Kevin Manahan returns to NJ.com

Welcome back to Kevin Manahan, who's just been named sports director at NJ.com after a 26-year hiatus. After leaving the New Jersey publication, Manahan spent most of the two decades as a national golf writer and NFL beat reporter for The New Jersey Star-Ledger, but most recently served as senior NFL editor at USA Today. "My new gig at http://NJ.com. Gonna miss my friends at USA TODAY," he admitted on Twitter.

And the crowd went wild.

"He's baaaaaaaaaaack!" reacted Steve Politi with The Star-Ledger.

"Very happy for my man @KevinCManahan, who is coming home to http://www.nj.com/ as the new sports editor," Fox SportsMike Garafolo responded.

Meanwhile, at USA Today: "We'll miss him but happy for his success," managing editor Mary Byrne tweeted.

As for his first task as director, he had this to tweet: "My new job at http://nj.com: Find the next @RobertKlemko and @JennyVrentas." No easy task, we're sure, but we're confident Manahan will rise to that challenge.
