Government shutdown: day 11 (really?)

Oct 11, 2013

There’s another poll to tell us how we’re feeling about this mess, from NBC/WSJ. Turns out, Shutdown debate damages GOP. Luke Russert at NBC News tweeted: “@chrisporterd It actually improved since last month.” Rebecca Kaplan from CBS News said, “Cruz's interpretation of House GOP listening to the American people doesn't really gel with poll.”

The government shutdown had gotten so nuts that it even took Nate Silver away from creating his new ESPN site. The report - The Six Big Takeaways From the Government Shutdown - also includes bylines from Wesley Morris, Katie Baker, Bryan Curtis, Bill Simmons, Zach Lowe, and Steven Hyden. Freelancer Bobby Caina Calvan wrote, “Govt shutdown not as big a deal as some think, says Nate Silver.” Ezra Klein at the Washington Post tweeted: “Strongly agree with @fivethirtyeight that it's unwise to assume political events in Oct 13 will matter in Nov 14.” Kevin Glass at the Washington Examiner added, “Important to remember: ‘For the most part, the experts you see on television are too sure of themselves.’”
