In advance of its impending relaunch, Capital New York announces the hiring of three new columnists, among them renowned former New York Daily News gossip writer Joanna Molloy.
As MediaBistro's FishbowlNY put it, "It’s great to see Molloy in particular finding a new regular Big Apple home."
In addition, Vanity Fair contributing editor Jim Windolf will also join the team. Windorf is credited with creating the New York Observer‘s “New York World” column.
"Holy cow, @capitalnewyork hired @jimwindolf," reacted Alex Burns with Politico.
"Ka-Boom," agreed his colleague Dylan Byers.
Rounding out the list is Glynnis MacNicol, who is a freelance writer and co-founder of TheLi.st, as well as a former media editor with Business Insider and Mediaite.
"Old-skool NY journo stars Joanna Molloy, Jim Windolf will write weekly columns for @capitalnewyork, also @GlynnMacN," media reporter Joe Pompeo tweeted of his new coworkers, which Bergen Record's Rebecca Baker retweeted and added, "Nice."
Capital NY co-editor Tom McGeveran shared the official welcome, though: "Very happy to have columnists @molloyjoanna @jimwindolf and @GlynnMacN in the stable; more announcements to come there!"
