Featured journalist: Kirk Montgomery
Montgomery's broadcast career has taken him from his home state of Michigan, to Florida, California and now Colorado. Just reading through his responses to our interview questions, you'll see his sense of humor shine through. For example, his funniest news-related hashtag: #whatthehellisahashtag. As for his favorite tools he uses at his job? A brow-shaping pencil and concealer brush, he tells us!
For a taste of his side-splitting coverage on entertainment topics, check out his jam-packed portfolio here. Buthe story he's most proud of, however, involved putting his junior high photos on TV and saying "Yes I was bullied as a kid - hang in there - It gets better - not perfect - but better." Inspiring.
Besides journalism, Kirk also enjoys acting. Kirk calls himself the king of "Don't blink or you'll miss him" performances, which include appearances in "Ed," "Third Watch," " Phantom of the Mall: Eric's Revenge," "21 Jump Street," and "ER."
He's even had a small screen appearance in NBC's blockbuster one-season hit "The Event" where he is briefly seen in a quad-screen with five other TV anchors uttering the classic line " This just in ... "
Montgomery also likes to sing, and reportedly has recorded a few albums for charity, which we also found admirable.
In his words, he "loves to tell the good news of Colorado's Entertainment Community and have a little fun along the way." And that sounds like a recipe for success to us.
