After five years away, financial and investigative journalist Theo Francis returns to the Wall Street Journal. Francis is known for his ability to decipher regulatory documents in order to write about complex financial, economic and legal issues, which is a skill he will be using often in his new role as part of WSJ's New York-based corporate group.
"So glad we're getting @theofrancis back at WSJ!" the Journal's Shira Ovide reacted to the news.
The news came while Francis was logged out, which means he returned to an overwhelming outpour of supportive tweets celebrating his move.
"Guess I picked bad day to be away from Twitter," he tweeted in response.
"Mazal tov to @theofrancis -- great guy and reporter," remarked Roben Farzad at Bloomberg Businessweek.
"Pot, kettle. Thanks Roben! Surprising number BW ezpats there too," Francis replied.
