Washington's most controversial media reporter has left her roost at Fishbowl DC, and it's uncertain where the feisty former Mediabistro editor will head next--or if she'll even stay in journalism.
"Whether raging waters or smooth sailing, my 3 years at FishbowlDC have been the perfect storm," Betsy Rothstein tweeted from her personal account, where her bio tellingly reads "I write about the lives of Washington journalists in a way that inevitably upsets someone."
Her only allusion to her next step was the following tweet: "Onto new adventures. Stay tuned..."
Other than that, Rothstein remains coyly mum about her vocational future. As Will Sommer at Washington City Paper quoted from one article on her move: "Betsy Rothstein's post-@fishbowldc future hinges on her tarot reading: 'Hoping I don't get the death card.'"
"Love or her hate her, no denying @betsyscribeindc had a great run @FishbowlDC," TIME Magazine's Dan Hirschhorn observed. "Congrats, wishing you the best going forward."
"Pouring out a shot for @betsyscribeindc, who is fantastic, tonight," pledged Hunter Walker at Talking Points Memo.
"We've come so far, Hunter. Haha. Thank you," Rothstein replied.
