In sports news, the World Series-winning Red Sox took out a full-page, color advertisement in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch thanking their opponent Cardinals and their fans. "Thoughts?" prompted Pat McGonigle with News Channel 5 St. Louis. "Big fan!" responded colleague Sara Dayley, also at KSDK. But the reaction from Marc Tracy at The New Republic was, "'From One Great Baseball Town To Another' oh darn now I'm covered in my own vomit."
Another story that captivated our interest was the tale of two skydivers' planes colliding mid-air and the exclusive photos that showed the terrifying accident. "Incredible helmet cam footage shows moment two skydive planes collide over WI. Amazing everyone made it out alive!" reflected NBC Chicago's Stefan Holt. "My carry-on is going to be a parachute on all future flights," concluded Matthew Piper at the Salt Lake Tribune. Meanwhile, Mashable's Jim Roberts commented, "NBC pays $100K for fiery skydiving video. This is what money bought."
And finally, in golf, Jay Yarow at Business Insider shared this twitpic, summarizing it: "Tiger Woods on a bridge." Bloomberg's Benjamin Harvey added, "Otherwise known as, Tiger Woods cripples traffic in a city of 15 million people." That's another way of looking at it, too.
